Donations will be launched shortly after mAIcro:G2A is released. This will help to cover operational costs like technical support, and provide for future resources.
Why Donation-Based?
mAIcro is not a Software as a Service (SaaS), as it is not yet hosted, so there is no subscription fee.
When mAIcro does offer hosting, self-hosting will continue to be the most cost-effective way to learn and build prototypes. So you can always run mAIcro on your own computer or cloud account.
The team behind mAIcro is small, and their dedication to your success is immense and unwavering. Building mAIcro requires each team member to pay any costs, such as using the cloud, AI, and upgrading their computers to have the power they need at their fingertips.
Donations will start to cover such costs. But our vision extends to providing opportunities to up and coming developers around the world. Young people that need an opportunity to learn and launch their careers.
Making a donation is not an expectation. You only offer what you can, when you can.
We feel the donation-based model is the best way to ensure mAIcro:G2A always remains available for everyone. That's why this version is called Gateway to Anything.
